Jewelry Care Guide
This jewelry care guide is here to help you keep your favorite Lumina Jewelry pieces beautiful for longer. With a few simple habits, you can protect the shine, shape, and finish of your necklaces, earrings, rings, and bracelets.
Jewelry is made to be worn and loved, but delicate pieces also need gentle care. Whether you wear your jewelry every day or save it for special moments, proper cleaning and storage can make a real difference.
How to Care for Your Jewelry Every Day
To keep your jewelry looking its best, we recommend putting it on after applying perfume, lotion, sunscreen, makeup, or hair products. These products can leave residue on the surface of jewelry and may affect the finish over time.
Before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping, remove your jewelry and store it in a dry place. This helps reduce exposure to moisture, sweat, and friction.
Keep Your Jewelry Away from Water and Chemicals
Water, sweat, chlorine, salt water, perfume, and cleaning products can all affect the appearance of jewelry. For this reason, it is best to keep your pieces away from direct contact with liquids and chemicals whenever possible.
If your jewelry does get wet, gently dry it with a soft, clean cloth before storing it. Avoid rubbing too hard, especially on gold-plated or delicate pieces.
How to Clean Your Jewelry
For everyday cleaning, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. This helps remove natural oils, dust, and residue from the surface.
Avoid using harsh cleaners, alcohol, toothpaste, baking soda, or abrasive cloths, as they may damage the finish. If a piece needs extra care, use a slightly damp soft cloth and dry it immediately with a clean cloth.
How to Store Your Jewelry
Good storage is one of the easiest ways to protect your jewelry. Store each piece separately in a soft pouch, jewelry box, or small sealed bag to help prevent scratches, tangling, and unnecessary exposure to air.
Necklaces should be fastened before storing to reduce tangling. Rings and earrings are best kept in separate compartments so they do not rub against each other.
When to Remove Your Jewelry
We recommend removing your jewelry before:
Showering or bathing
Swimming in pools or the ocean
Applying perfume, lotion, or sunscreen
Exercising or sweating heavily
Sleeping
Cleaning or using household chemicals
These simple steps can help protect the shine and finish of your pieces.

18K Gold Plated
All of our gold-plated styles are based made with 925 sterling silver or premium brass, plated with 18K gold.
The international electroplating thickness standard is 0.02um-0.025um, but our products boast a gold plating thickness of 0.25um-0.3um, over ten times the international standard. This results in a true, natural color with a high brilliance, enhanced sophistication, and hypoallergenic properties. It resists wear and fading, ensuring the same quality as karat gold. All designs are hypoallergenic, nickel-free, and long-lasting in wear.
18K Gold Plated Jewelry Care Guide
To protect the finish of your 18K gold plated jewelry, avoid contact with perfume, hair spray, deodorant, detergents, beauty products, and anything containing alcohol derivatives, as some chemicals may damage the finish of your jewelry. Always remove your jewelry before playing sports, washing your hands, or swimming. Use a soft cloth to wipe away dirt and restore its shine.
Never wash gold plated jewelry with water, jewelry cleaners, or abrasive cleaners. If the jewelry gets wet, wipe it dry.

925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, making it durable yet refined enough.
It is a precious metal with inherent value. All of our sterling silver jewelry is engraved with “925.”
Sterling silver has a bright, soft white metallic luster. It’s relative softness allows artisans to create extremely intricate and detailed patterns and shapes. Sterling silver is chemically stable and hypoallergenic.
925 Sterling Silver Jewelry Care Guide
Sterling Silver jewelry is prone to oxidation and darkening, requiring regular care.
Even 925 silver, is less hard than gold, platinum, and should be worn without excessive force or impact.
Sterling silver jewelry, if oxidized/tarnished, can be cleaned with a polishing cloth to remove tarnish and restore its shine. Sterling silver can be gently cleaned with warm water and mild soap. Always rinse thoroughly. But avoid contact with harsh detergents, salt water or chlorinated water, and personal care products to help prevent damage and tarnish.
